Hello, I’m Amelia
I work as a project manager. I’m a parent. I’m an expat residing in London, United Kingdom.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary contract gradually turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to United Kingdom wasn’t in the grand plan. Like many relocation stories, it started with a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, higher expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural shock, uncertainty, and plenty of trial and error. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that fit us, met other families, and started building something that felt solid.
Why I Built ModestHarborEcho
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a frank, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in United Kingdom.
